Rapper Arrested over Music Video Shooting
Rapper OMB Peezy has been arrested in connection with a shooting on the set of a music video.
The shooting occurred on 21 February at a scrapyard in Atlanta, Georgia, the setting of an upcoming music video by rappers Roddy Ricch and 42 Dugg. The sound of the gunshots caused at least 50 people to scatter.
Teresa Lakes, a medic who had been on set, explained: “Everyone started running, trying to get out. Or take cover, [a] lot of places to take cover in there.”
Three people were injured as a result.
According to reports, OMB Peezy – real name LeParis Dade – was taken into custody on Monday, 1 March. He was subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during commission.
Per police records at Fulton County Jail, the date of the 24-year-old “Pressure” rapper’s offense is listed as 21 February – the same day as the shooting.
OMB Peezy remains in custody, with his bond set at $60 000.
